“Staggered Throttles” – The Genesis
Prior to the advent of electronic engine controls, a common occurrence was Staggered Throttles. For this anomaly, the cables running from the cockpit to the engines stretched over time such that the pilot would be forced to set each engine throttle position differently to assure even thrust across the wings. Corrective action was to adjust the turnbuckles that would re-align the throttles in the cockpit allowing the pilot to exert even pressure across the flight throttle quadrant assuring all the engines were generating the same level thrust. It is this corrective action that STAR Aero Services is providing for those lessors whose lessees are not flying straight and level.
